Setting up safe zones

Draw home and school geofences and get arrival alerts with SafeKids360 parental control.

Updated: 2026-06-06

Safe zones are circles you draw on the map around the places your child goes most often, like home, school, or a sports club. When your child arrives at or leaves a zone, the parent app notifies you, so you always know they got where they were headed.

Drawing a safe zone on the map, naming it, setting the radius, and turning on arrival and departure alerts

Open safe zones

  1. Parent app > tap your child's profile.
  2. Open the map screen.
  3. Tap Safe zones to start a new zone.

Place the zone

Move the map until the center sits over the place you want, then drop the circle. SafeKids360 supports a few zone types: home, school, activity, park, or a custom zone.

Name it and set the radius

Give the zone a clear name (for example "School"). Adjust the radius so the circle covers the building and its yard, but not the whole neighborhood. A tighter radius gives more accurate arrival and departure alerts.

Choose your alerts

Each zone has its own arrival and departure toggles. Turn on arrival alerts for school so you know your child made it, and departure alerts for home so you know when they head out. You can mix and match per zone.

Save

Save the zone. It syncs to the kid phone, and the circle appears as an overlay on your map. You can add several zones, one for each important place.

Troubleshooting

Zone alerts depend on the kid phone reporting its location reliably. If alerts arrive late or not at all, the phone's location is probably not updating in the background. A radius that is too small can also cause missed alerts near the edge, so widen it slightly if needed.
